That every time the Lakers make contact with a Spur they call it "good defense" and why is it when a Spur makes contact its a foul???

Proof once again the refs in the NBA are the most biased and influenced in sports. They just make sure the ratings justify their overpriced contract. I guess I am the fool for watching this, so off goes the TV. I am sure I will hear about some "incredible ending" with the Lakers getting just enough help to win it...

I hate the Lakers and what they've done to basketball.

Couldn't agree more Bill. The NBA is the WWE of sports ...

... thank god for NCAA hoops or basketball would have been reclassified as sports entertainment.

nba is closer to the wwf show than to any sport, and it should be classified as sports entertainment, and its no accident that the pro basketball team of nba (the u.s. "national" bball team) minus some of the stars, got their asses handed to them repeatedly by real competitive world bball athletes in this years basketball world cup.

Having said that, i hugely enjoyed making some good cash tonight riding the directives of this crooked league. Fix in for the lakes, means money in the bank for me.

Wild Bill.

Gimme a break...

Go and watch tapes of games 1 and 2. LA's "great defense" had SA shooting free throws seemingly every trip.

yeah, but doesn't that validate bill's point, that officials are given a directive from upper echelons and call the games whichever way they have to?

Let's face it guys, a bball game is so easy to bias in terms of officiating, there's so much physical contact and the lines between what is considered good defence and what is a foul are really blurred, or imo non-existant. They can call it whichever way they want to and the vast majority of the public wont even realise, of course a lot of people will.

I was just pointing out how the officials just took over a game almost singlehandledly. Two questionable calls gets Duncan on the bench and the lead is reduced. Third quarter and the Lakers get two fouls while even the announcers talk about how aggressive the Lakers are on the defensive end. The late run was pure official aided, Spurs were going to the basket and getting just as much contact as the Lakers were on the offensive end, yet time after time no call on the Lakers and plenty of calls on the Spurs.

I think the team that is aggressive should get calls, but both teams were aggressive and only one was getting calls. All that talk about Kobe being the guy carrying the team, he was taking a lot of wild drives and getting bailed out with the foul call.

It wasn't as bad at that Game 6 with the Kings last year or even the game with the Twolves, but its just getting so predictable right now. Its like a title fight in the champ's hometown. You can't win it by anything but a knockout because the judges will screw you if you leave them the chance.

I think the league would like to see a 7 game series and the officials will provide it.

Anyone that cries fix in sports (pro) is mentally challenged!! No one fixes games when you make so much money. What is Kobe going to put 100 dollars on a game?? Frustrated losing gamblers always cry fix.

Professional players don't fix games but over the years I have become receptive to shady officiating altering the outcome of games for the benefit of revenues (i.e. a Lakers and Spurs game 7). Do I believe Stern calls the refs' locker room before the game and says "Shaq fouls out tonight ok guys?" Hell no but I know he may call the head of the officials with his take on how the game was called the previous night... and say "you need to tell your guys to call the game tighter against FILL IN THE BLANK" and leave it at that. I believe it goes along those lines or something similiar to that so it's more manipulation and not a total fix IMO. Stern could give a phuck whether you had the over 186 or if you had +1 1/2 neither could Jason Kidd for that matter.
